13/9/05: I arrived at this wiki today and it seems inactive. To jumpstart things, I have contacted a leading Wikipedia community member to find out about copying Wikipedia text here to use as a base. -Joshuapaquin 00:26, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- Add wikilinks to existing articles, even if they're redlinks, to prepare for mass article creation
- Copy relevant wikipedia content over (pending approval from Wikipedia)
- Recruit help!
- Add entirely new content
Joshuapaquin makes some excellent points. However, I disagree with one of his "to do" items. I'd rather not just copy content from Wikipedia. It's a good source, but there's no point in having a Wikicity that's just a copy of a sub-set of the Wikipedia. I hope contributors will pull in content from many good sources, giving credit to those sources and adding information such as favorite family traditions or receipes. As a Wikicity, we do not have to stick to a neutral point of view (NPOV), so favorite heros, holidays or stories would also be appropriate, I think. --CocoaZen 20:21, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

I have an idea-it could either help to boostart this wiki or to start a new wiki, and I would love the help of anyone! Im a bit of a newbie on wikis! To have pages that relate to any question of Halakha and that all contain information such as the different poskim on the matter, and the sources in Gemara, Mishnah and Tanach of the Halakha. Would be a useful thing no?

It would be a very good thing, as it would help those with an interest in it, to get to the technical heart of what Judaism as a religious faith. One still needs to attend to the social side as well, but this might very well provide a needed center of involvement.--Kirk 17:29, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree too. It's an excellent idea. Go ahead with content and feel free to ask for help -- especially with wiki-format. And the format's not set in stone ; it can be improved too. -- CocoaZen 20:34, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
